I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Palo Alto. My dissertation was an exploration of psychotherapy treatment outcomes in a training clinic. I also interned at the Alaska Psychiatric Institute. These highly ranked training programs, accredited by the American Psychological Association, allow me to be of effective use to my clientele. Moreover, I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship through Back in Motion in Vancouver, B.C.
In 2025/2026, I sold my almost decade-long Canadian practice, MyPsychology BC, which consisted of a successful team of psychologists, counsellors, and psychometrists, offering a wide variety of psychological services. The same practice now operates as MyPsych BC, run by a psychiatrist and their team. In 2026, I launched my U.S. based practice, in Minneapolis, MN, Ready Psych Go.
In addition to private practice, I am also involved in higher academia by offering clinical supervision to Master’s, Psy.D., and Ph.D. candidates in clinical psychology programs. Moreover, I have a wide portfolio of university courses in cognitive and behavioural interventions and psychodynamic therapy offered to doctoral students. Regarding my research, I have focused on eating disorders through the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioural Sciences at Stanford University and the Mental Illness Research Center at the Palo Alto VA.
My scholarly research is an active part of my work, fundamentally informing the daily work I do with my clientele. I also lecture regularly on CBT and Psychodynamics, an active area of specialization and professional interest. In addition, in these settings, I conducted a range of psychological assessments. Having trained in a variety of clinical and research-based environments, I have the necessary expertise and wherewithal to support my clients on their journey to self-actualization.
My clinical training consisted of private practice, therapeutic outdoor camps, psychiatric hospitals, community mental health agencies, providing psychiatric stabilization services as a mobile crisis interventionist in San Francisco, as well as child and family treatment settings. Academically, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant throughout my scholarly training.
Prior to my graduate training in psychology, I completed an honors degree in psychology from the University of Winnipeg, where I focused on animal learning and worked in a rat laboratory, examining the impact of alcohol dependency and scalar timing theory. Before receiving formal training in psychology, I worked with underserved youth, including those with various mental health issues and fetal alcohol syndrome. Since early adolescence, I was exposed to several camp-related experiences, which instilled in me a desire to cooperate, learn from, and acquire a good familiarity with cultural adjustment. My desire to understand human nature has been prevalent since early adolescence, and it’s also been the greatest impetus behind my work as a licensed psychologist.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors and traveling with my wife, children, and dogs. I love following innovations in technology, playing strategic games, and fitness.

Supervision
Supervision services are offered under Ready Psych Go and are provided directly by Mickey Stein, PhD.

I offer clinical supervision for master’s- and doctoral-level trainees, as well as early career psychologists interested in gaining experience in both assessment and therapy.
Over the past eight years, I worked closely with Adler University in Canada and supervised dozens of doctoral students. This included hands-on training in psychological assessment, case conceptualization, and report writing. My primary area of experience is in assessment, including mental health, psychoeducational, learning, neuropsychological, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) evaluations. I have always valued this role and continue to enjoy supporting trainees as they build their skills and confidence. Many students have remained in contact over time.
In addition to assessment, I also provide supervision in psychotherapy. My approach to therapy draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and experiential approaches.
I also work alongside a highly trained psychometrist, which allows for additional support and training in test administration, scoring, and writing.

While I am not formally affiliated with a university at this time, I welcome inquiries from individuals interested in supervision or practicum opportunities.

If you are interested in supervision, please reach out directly to myself.
